Indoor sessions take place on Wednesday evenings at our barn on Inglenook Farm, Rainford - arriving 7.15pm for a a 7.30pm start.
We start with basic archery stance, shooting roundel targets at ground level over short distances of 8 to 10 yards using recurve barebows.
Topics covered on the course include:
- NFAS targets, pegs and scoring system
- Field stances including kneeling, stepping forward and back
- Safety procedures for indoor and woodland shooting
- Course etiquette for competition shooting
- Bow styles, including longbows, thumb draw and crossbow
- Advice and measurement for buying your own archery gear
- Releases: split-finger, thumb, three-under, string walking
- Aim: gap shooting, sighted and intuitive styles
Our courses are fully-insured and taught by NFAS Qualified coaches.
Coaches and members will continue to support you for several weeks after training - with follow-up coaching sessions included in the cost of your initial course when you join the club.
